In October 2001 the first issue of The Avenue Magazine (журнал ¬Авеню¼) saw the light of the day in Moscow. The Avenue Magazine is the first Russian-language monthly to focus on the arts and culture of the Western world, and Russian-Western cultural contacts. For over 80 years Russia has been isolated from the mainstream of the Western culture, and still there is no source (apart from the internet) for an educated Russian to learn about the contemporary art, books, music, and cultural developments taking place across the globe. Besides cultural phenomena and personalities, we are planning to cover such topics as relationship between business and culture in a modern society. Target Audience. The Avenue Magazine is a richly illustrated publication targeted at general middle-class educated public: dynamic people with stable income, living in the capitals, who are interested in foreign countries and world culture, speak foreign languages, and often travel abroad. Content. All the magazine’s content is based on exclusive partnership agreements with world’s leading art museums, galleries, film festivals. Our list of information partners includes, among others, the Tate Gallery (London), Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam), San Sebastian International Film Festival (Spain), Film Society of Lincoln Center (New York) (view full partners list). Distribution. The Avenue Magazine is distributed free of charge in Moscow and St. Petersburg, at galleries, boutiques, cinema, jazz clubs, business centers (including European Business Club and American Chamber of Commerce in Russia), shopping centers, luxury apartments, travel agencies, etc. (view distribution list) Volume of current issue / projected volume for 2002: 36 pages/96 pages Print run of current issue / projected print run for 2002: 10,000 / 25,000 copies
