ISSN assigned for "Avenue"

In November 2002  ISSN  registered "Avenue" and "AvenueRussia.com", and assigned the following numbers for our printed and on-line editions: ISSN 1682-1270 (print), ISSN 1682-1289 (online).  ISSN is the world's largest register of publications under the ISO standard, centered in Paris, France. 

 

We’ve got new information partners

 

Photographs by Mario Testino is our new theme thanks to Avenue's new partner - London's National Portrait Gallery.

We are glad to report that a number of other renowned art centres have recently joined the list of our partners, which provide materials for publication in the Avenue Magazine. The new partners include London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, Cartier Foundation (Paris), and Institute of Contemporary Art of Philadelphia. The full list of new partners follows:

January 31, 2002: Mediaweek (London, UK) - Europe's leading magazine focusing on publishing industry and  media world - published the article "International Eye: Avenue needs help to keep it back in the USSR".  Click to view the article.

Promotion News

 

Yet another star is the Avenue Magazine’s fan! (Marc Almond on the picture (right) signing the Avenue #1 at a recent party in Moscow;  Joakin Kortes with Avenue Magazine after performance in St.Petersburg )

On October 12 the Avenue Magazine took part in the Cannes Lions presentation in Moscow.

Moscow City Government defined our magazine project as highly valuable for Moscow, and offered cooperation with us in six priority areas, including cooperation with 3 TV Channel.

In October the Avenue Magazine joined the international MediaCourier Network For Media Buying. In November we joined Chasqui-Brydson Media Sales.

 

 

Latest additions to “celebrities list”

 

Our “celebrities list” is formed by Russia’s famous cultural figures who greet the readers of the Avenue and answer our magazine’s questionnaire.  The new names in our list are artist Andrey Bartenev, musician Nikolay Petrov, writer Victor Erofeev, artist Grisha Bruskin, poet Dmitry Prigov, film director Eldar Ryazanov, television journalist Victor Shenderovich, jazz musician Igor Butman, gallery owners Aidan Salakhova, Olga Sviblova, Marat Guelman, journalist Artemiy Troitskiy. We are grateful to them for their kind support.

Pierre and Gilles - the famous French artist/photographers are our new theme thanks to our Austrian partner KunstHaus Wien.

We wish to welcome Professor Lyudmila Kazakova of the Academy of Fine Arts of Russia, who kindly agreed to prepare the article on the art of Louis Comfort Tiffany for the Avenue Magazine.

We appreciate assistance from Solomon Guggenheim Foundation in preparation of article on history of motorcycle styling.

the Avenue Magazine welcomes ¬Paws, Inc.¼ (Albany, IN, USA), which offered its help in preparation of our article on Jim Davies, author of Garfield The Cat.
